Learn to kite surf with the original kite surfing school on Hatteras Island, Kitty Hawk Kites Kite Surfing School. Our special kite surfing clinics/camps are taught by PASA and Wipika approved instructors. Get the most comprehensive course available, 14 hours of total instruction for only $299.00! Advanced reservations required. Topics covered will include learning the necessary skills required to launch solo and assisted, land in the water, master the power intake. Progress to the water and perform exciting body drags through the water. Learn to control the direction you are being pulled, how to drag upwind, etc. Start the waterstart. Instructors will guide you through kite, body, and board positioning. Learn to stand up on the board, begin to plane, and then you are ready to start edging and to go upwind! Learn on a variety of kite types and sizes and become more educated on this exciting new level of Kiting. We supply all the gear and the classes take place in the wide expansive sound waters of Hatteras Island. The waters are warm, shallow, and calm. This is the perfect place to learn to kite surf! We have a private beach, shower, clean restroom, and a pro shop on site!
