Most of the year the sand is fairly hard packed, easy to walk on and you can drive your car on the beach. There are no better winds than on the coast. Ocean Shores has good restaurants, inexpensive and expensive hotels/motels for all budgets and tastes, and the best kite flying I've found anywhere. Plenty of places to get any broken equipment repaired, or to get any new items you may be looking for. Anyone of several Washington State kite clubs may be found flying at Ocean Shores on any given weekend, team
