[Al Ain] Greetings from the United Arab Emirates! Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahayan, the Al Ain Fiesta is part of a 24 day festival which will run to March 21st and include the International Flower Show and Music Festival.

[Camp Hill] The Keystone Kiters monthly meeting be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2003, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Camp Hill Borough Hall, 2145 Walnut Street, Camp Hill, PA, 17011. Meetings cover all areas of today’s kite flying sport and hobby. General business meeting is also scheduled. Anyone who has an interest in kites can participate. All levels of ability are represented. There’s even kite fliers/makers who have won prestigious awards in the kiting world in attendance. Come join the fun! Keystone Kiters meetings are free and open to the public.

[Yucca Valley] Kites Over Yucca Valley is an afternoon of Gomberg’s giant kites, a kids' kite contest, kite hospital, demonstrations from Southern Califonia kite clubs, kite crafts, food, music. 2nd annual event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
[Cincinnati] Monthly Family Fun Fly - Public is invited to join in.

[Austin] Hundreds of kites fill the sky at the 75th Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival. Thousands of spectators fill the park for this tradional single line competition. Sport kite demonstrations throughout the day and displays of monster kites. NO admission fee. No fee to compete - all competing kites must be home made. Handsome trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Events have adult and youth categories. All proceeds from concesions sales benefit programs to prevent child abuse. Bring your kites and welcome the spring. BTW - March 2 is Texas Independence Day and what better place to be than the state capitol? Yee-haw!

[Long Beach] Indoor kite festival. Open Class competition. Hot tricks competition. Demos. One or two fliers flying at a time. All ages
         
[Sunnyvale] This is an AKA sanctioned competition. Dual line, Quad line, kite making and fighter kite comps will be held throughout the day. Flyers meeting at 10am.
[Santa Barbara] This family style event attracts flyers of all abilities. The site is absolutely beautiful and overlooks the marina and entire coastline. Great wind and good people. Categories include sport, kite fighting, highest flying, most beautiful, largest/smallest, and a kids tail chase (all day). Prizes awarded in all categories. No entry fee, free admission and parking.
         
[Laurel] Leave worries of sunburn behind when you fly at night! We hold a monthly night fly most months at 9PM on the Saturday night closest to a full moon.
Workshop (IN)
[Indianapolis] Free!! Kite making workshops being held on the 3rd Sunday of each month from Nov. until March. Different kite will be made at each workshop.
         
[Hampton] KONE has rented the "Porch" at the Ashworth Hotel. We will be sharing a pot luck lunch and friendship there. 10:00 till 4:00. Rain or shine.

[Spiro] This a single day family fun fly at the only prehistoric Native American archaeological site open to the public in Oklahoma. There will be between 400 and 1000 people, mainly families, coming to see fancy kites and fly their own simple kites. Volunteer "professional kiters" will show off their skills and kites and expose folks from Arkansas and Oklahoma to this incredible sport.

[Arvada] NARFF! is a group of kiting enthusiasts located in the greater Denver, CO area that get together for Fun Flys twice a month (2nd & 4th Sunday) at the Robby Ferrufino Park. All are welcome!
         
Workshop (IN)

[Ocean Shores] Instructions and demos. Indoor fly. School gym. No competition. Meeting at Linda’s Landing.
 
         
[Long Beach] Leigh Blakey and Lee Taylor bring fabric painting instruction to this kite design and kite making workshop. Each participant will learn resist and fabric painting techniques while decorating a 28" by 28" kite skin with three sets of dramatic ripstop tails. Lee says this can easily be done in the two days with some time left to fly. All materials will be provided. Besides the sewing machines, thread, etc., each person needs to prepare the kite tails before they come if possible. Three colors of ripstop are recommended. Make one 15' tail and two 10' tails of each of three colors, all 3" before hemming. Choose colors you'd like t use in your kite.

[Long Beach] In researching Baden-Powell’s kite making ventures, Rob Pratt came across plans for one called the manlifter. Its silhouette looks like part Rokkaku and part Tuxedo Tales. It provides a wonderful surface for kite art. There will be several options for taking this class which haven't quite been defined. Watch for more details in kite club newsletters, handouts, museum web page, etc. It will be a winner.
         
[Santa Monica] Fun Fly, Kites for Kids, Kite Surfing Lessons
[Roseville] Welcome to the 9th Annual Roseville Kite Festival. Planned are Sport Kite Demos, The Magical Musical Mystery Tour, Mass Ascension and Just The old Idea of a Family Day in the park.
         
[Denver] KD Kanopy is proud to announce the first annual Kite For Kids event. In celebration of National Kite Month, this day long event will take place outside the south enc of INVESCO Field at Mile High on the Sports Legends Mall and will benefit "Friends of Kids in Crisis". The event will include kite-flying, stunt flying demos, vendors, local businesses, inflatable games, activities, and special guest appearances.
