The Cherry Blossom Kite Festival runs from 10-3 on April 24, sponsored by the Springfield Sister Cities Association with funding from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, and support from the Springfield Regional Arts Council and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. This is the first year for the festival, held in the beautiful Japanese Stroll Garden developed in conjunction with Springfield’s sister city in Isesaki, Japan. Come make an "art kite," fly a kite, watch a demonstration, and enter your design into competition to be judged May 1 at Artsfest on Walnut Street. This event is free thanks to CFO funding, and open to the public. All ages welcome.
