Description:

Annual Boy Scouts event-- inviting all scout groups in South Texas to a kitemaking contest -- sponsored by the local kite club -- Coastal Bend Sky Pirates- Saturday is Fun Fly, demos, workshops, and practice / experiment time- Sunday at noon the contest begins- awards immediately following.

I 37 South to Sinton-- East on SR188 (just south of Sinton) to SR 35 turn left to rockport-- the Beach Park is adjacent the harbor and museums in Downtown Rockport-- there is a parking fee for the park-- designated kite field is at very rear of park --

There are lots of things going on in the park as well-- it is a "debut" of the beach renewal project -- musical acts, programs, etc planned by the Parks/Leisure Svcs. department and "Babes on the Bay" all female fishing tournament at festival grounds Sat 24th
