from 9:00-12:00 The Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Parks & Recreation Association will be having a statewide kiting event called “Flying 4 Kids.” The goal of the event is to raise awareness about a youth license plate, featuring kites. Each plate sale and renewal places $25 in a fund for youth after-school programming through the park and recreation agencies throughout the state. We will join the festivities Edwardsville’s 42+ acre, Joe Glick Park. There will be refreshments, raffles, kite building and a kite hospital. They will also be roping out an area for our sport kite fliers to demo in. So bring out the whole family and let’s show them what modern kiting is all about.
