Description:
This event is held annually, adn last year it grew from a 2-day event to a 3-day event. Friday night kicks off with a night glow (large kites flown with lights attached) and a concert. This year’s rock band is on tour from Britain. On Sat. and Sun. the field is open for flying from 10 - 4, and Kite Building Workshops (and kite kits) are provided free for children from 11:00 - 1:00. There will also be a Kite Hospital, food vendors, a kite vendor, music by local bands, and any other entertainment we can muster up all weekend long. Attendance is large, but we have a seperate field reserved for stunt kites and always make accomodations to make large kites comfortable.

Directions:
Email Adam at adams@lanb.com for more detailed info, but if you are using an online map, try the corner of Meadow Lane and Kayenta in Los Alamos, NM 87544. The White Rock section of town (where the festival is) is seperated 8 miles from Main Los Alamos due to the National Lab and topography. Both sections of town are about 20 minutes from Espanola or Pojoaque and 40 minutes from Santa Fe.
Comments:
Unfortunately hotels are limited in our town, but Hampton Inn 505-672-3838 is in the same section of town and is newer than the Los Alamos alternatives. For more options, try the Cities of Gold Casino (20 minutes away in Pojoaque) or experience the culture of Santa Fe (40 minutes away).
