Description:
The 5th annual High Altitute Kite Festival has merged with our Annual Blues Party introducing the Soaring Kites and Blues Festival on Saturday July 8th at Squaw Valley USA’s High Camp, el. 8,200'. Take a trip up the scenic Cable Car and enjoy flying kites amongst the Sierra Nevada Peaks overlooking Lake Tahoe. Kid’s kite-making sessions, demonstrations and workshops. Live Blues music by Joe Louis Walker and the Boss Talkers supported by Jason Ricci and New Blood and local Dan Copeland. Noon-5pm. All concerts free with a cable car ticket. Details 530-583-6985.

Directions:
Squaw Valley USA is 96 miles from Sacramento, 196 miles from San Francisco and 42 miles West of Reno NV. It generally takes about 2 hours from Sacramento and about 4 hours from San Francisco depending on traffic and weather.
Take Interstate 80 northeast into the Sierra Nevada.
Exit at Truckee, onto Highway 89 SOUTH, towards Lake Tahoe/Tahoe City/Squaw Valley.
Follow Highway 89 south 8 miles to the Squaw Valley Rd. Exit. Turn RIGHT and follow Squaw Valley Rd. to the base of the mountain.

Kid’s kite-making sessions, demonstrations and workshops. Flying area is amongst the Sierra Nevada Mountain Peaks located at Squaw Valley USA’s High Camp, el. 8200' atop of the Cable Car.
