The 15th annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival will fill the skies over Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara 11am-5pm Sunday, March 21, 1999. The festival, celebrating its 15th year, is co-organized and co-sponsorted by radio stations 101.7 K-lite and News Radio 990 KTMS. A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit the local chapter of Special Olympics. The Santa Barbara Kite Festival will feature kite contests, and related activities for all ages and kite-flying abilities. The contests will include kite fighting, stunt flying, highest flying, most beautful, and largest kite. There will also be kite "tail chasing" events for children to chase and catch a kite tail all day long. The festival will include food, beverage, and kite booths.
