Description:
Ansel Toney was a kite flier, kite maker and great man who was officially recognized by the Indiana state legislature as "Kiteman of Indiana" and has been an inspiration to kite enthusiasts from all over the country. The Hoosier Kitefliers Society is honoring his memory and family name by hosting a two-day kite festival at the Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie, Indiana on May 5th and 6th, 2001. This was the site of the 1999 AKA Convention. Festivities will include sportkite competitions and demonstrations, free stunt kite flying lessons, large display kites, sled-kite workshops for children, flymart, silent auction, and raffle.
