The 14th annual US Cellular US Open Windsurfing Regatta is proud to include for the second year the US Open Kiteboarding Invitational Freestyle Competition. Last year’s Champion Darian Smith and runner-up Mauricio Abreu intend to defend their titles at this year’s event. 10,000 spectators watch from a beautiful grassy bluff called Oleander Point on the edge of downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. The festivities last four days as windsurfing racing, music concerts, a bikini contest and more attract people from all over Texas to picnic and watch in amazement as the competitors jump 40 to 50 feet in the air doing stunts never before seen in the state. An Amateur Class will be offered.
