[Wright Patterson Air Force Base] The AKA Convention is an annual five day gathering of kite enthusiasts, artists, and competitors. With roughly 500 members in attendance, the Convention ranks as one of the largest kite gatherings in the world. Convention activities include educational workshops, games, displays, and the Grand National kite competitions for kite making and sport kite flying. Committee and general business meetings are scheduled. Other highlights are the Great Kite Auction which offers unique and hard to get kite products and a retail FlyMarket for small vendors. The Convention is held in different locations each year and is scheduled in September or October. The gathering is only open to AKA members.

[Long Beach] This annual event has never been more timely. One Sky One World gatherings will be held annually around the world to promote protection of the planet, peace, friendship and understanding between all people. The yearly festivals are sponsored by community based organizations committed to promoting international friendship in a positive demonstration for global cooperat`ion. In Long Beach, WA the kitefly will be held from 11am to 4pm at the Bolstad Avenue beach approach.
         
[Anderson] This is the 16th anniversary of our club’s first meeting. We will be using the Theme " One Sky One World" The meeting will start at 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This will be our annual business meeting.

[Webster] Dakota Kite Fest is held in conjuction with the Annual Pumpkin Fest. Family Day of fun, lunch available, evening Parade, kite building, remote control airplanes, something for everyone.
[Dorchester] The day will be filled with a diversity of kites. Many styles, shapes, sizes and colors will decorate the sky. Some kites will need several pilots to lunch. While others will float like the birds among the clouds. There will be sport kite demonstrations, lesions on “How to fly a sport kite.” Displays of Chinese kites along with traditional kites. The day’s activities will start at 10:00 AM. So, bring a picnic basket and plan to be there and enjoy the day. Directions to the park are posted on www.seasidekites.com.

This is an AKA and Eastern Leauge Sanctioned event. There will be a kite auction and an number of manufactures reps. will be on hand.
