Israel International Kite Fest (Israel)
[Herzliya] The Israel International Kite Festival is a full three-day event for the genral public, with events geared towards family involvement - demonstrations, fun events, competitions, day and night flying.

ISKF 2007 (ID)
[Pocatello] The first annual Idaho State Kite Festival will be in Pocatoello, Idaho, and is the outgrowth of kite workshops and kite flies held throughout Idaho and In Oregon and Washington during the past two years. It will be held annually, involve numerous public and service groups, and, hopefully, claim a place on the calendar for Idaho tourists and kite enthusiasts. During the 2007 Festival, veterans led by the Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a memorial fly and breast cancer survivors will hold a celebratory fly. Workshops include Tom Tinney’s miniature kite, a Japanese kite, breast cancer survivor kites and patriotic kites by veterans and friends.

AKA Convention (WA)
[Ocean Shores] The AKA Convention is an annual five day gathering of kite enthusiasts, artists, and competitors. With roughly 500 members in attendance, the Convention ranks as one of the largest kite gatherings in the world.

East Meets West (MA)
[Dorchester] East Meets West - KITE & CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2007, the fifth annual free community event, will take place on October 6 (SAT) at Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester. October 7 (SUN) will be a fun flying day. It will also be a rain backup day. It starts at 10AM and ends at 4PM on both days.
Like past years, his fun-filled event for both families and individuals will feature the best kites from the East and West: 300 feet dragon, 40 feet eagle, giant lobster, butterfly plus your kites and a lot more. This beautiful park has plenty of space for adults and children, novices and professionals to fly kites to their hearts¡¦ content. There will be flying demos and a kite-making workshop. |

[Fridley] MKS will observe a little larger One Sky One World event than in previous years. Dave Herzig will put on a kids kitemaking workshop from noon to 3 p.m. (or longer, depending on interest).
MKS will also have a booth to distribute ready-to-fly kites to people who come, but who do not want to make a kite at the workshop. MKS will also distribute information on upcoming kite events around the region. Pat McGrann of the "Kitegang" will have a booth to display photos and information about his organization and the work they are doing to help people on the fringes of society in developing countries around the world. (See article on the Kitegang in the Fall issue of AKA Kiting.) Music to fly by and public address to be provided by Mr. Kite, Craig Christensen. Harden Kite Festival (Australia)
[Harden] The second Harden Kite Festival will be held on Saturday 20th October 2007 at the Picnic Racecourse in Harden. Harden is on the South West Slopes of NSW between Yass and Young. It is a wheat and sheep growing area. We held our first Festival last year and were very encouraged by the response, over 2000 people came from all over NSW and some interstate. Kite Buggy and Boarding demonstrations are held throughout the day and live entertainment and market stalls are also provided. The event is a free family friendly alcohol free day designed to introduce the uninitiated into the joys of kite flying while also providing excellent facilities for the experienced flyer.
