[Primm Valley] 'Buggy Camp' will give all those interested and curious about racing an opportunity to get together, learn and have fun with others from North America and abroad. The focus will be on introducing racing to all yearning and wanting to give it a go. Returning for his second time and bringing his vast experience in racing, organizing and marshalling races for all levels, Torsten Jurgen from Germany will be the there to help us run races as well as to answer your questions about the latest from international racing scene. Several top buggy pilots are coming to show their tricks and share their experience. They will be ready to take participants for tandem rides (2 kites & 2 buggies) to help to improve buggying skills and technique (check tandem videos on www.parakart.org). Latest gear from several manufacturers will be available for demo. We are planning to run several task oriented training races every day followed by one final open race where amongst other prizes from event sponsors, the winner will have the fun of packing home a spanking new Libre Full Race buggy as the trophy. Everyone is welcome to come and join us. Come for a day, come for all. [Washington, DC] The NATIONAL AIR & SPACE MUSEUM (NASM) 2nd Annual Kite Day includes Indoor Flying demos, Discussions with AKA Master Fliers & Kite Makers, Exhibits of Award Winning Kites, Kite Stamp Exhibit and Petitions, Miniature Kite Display, and Kite Making Workshops. The events are all free and open to the general public. The events start at 10:00 and end at 4:00 EST. NASM’s Kite Day is advertised in the Washington, DC and Maryland newspapers and usually is covered by radio and TV. Kite Day is a joint event by the Aeronautical, Educational, and Public Affairs Departments at NASM. There is information available to the public about the AKA and its affiliated clubs. Kites made by the public during Kite Day usually number about 1700. NASM’s attendance per day on a week end is about 30,000. LOTS of Kite information is distributed!!
 
         
[Albany] This one of our regularly scheduled Indoor Fun Fly event. It will take place from 7-10pm, in the main gym located in the Campus Activites Center. Come fly indoor with us!
 
         
[Slippery Rock] For the fifth consecutive year, the Fly Pittsburgh Kite Club will be sponsoring their Annual Indoor Fly. This event will run from noon-4 p.m. There will be ample room for everyone to fly since the gymnasium is the size of three basketball courts. Ceiling height is approximately 20 ft. Event highlights include musical entertainment by our own professional DJ, Con Engels. There will also be a training area and seminar for first time indoor flyers plus special demos by master flyers Tom Baumgardner and Micheal Moore. In addition, there will be some fun filled competitions including the Dizzy Lizzy Challenge to see who can perform the most 360 passes in one minute. NOTE: ALL FLYERS MUST WEAR PROPER ATHLETIC FOOTWEAR AND PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
 
         
[Richmond] Dorey Park Kite Festival is a day of sled kite making and kite flying demonstrations and lessons set to music. Free sled kites go to the first 400 kids.

[Primm] For nearly a decade, kite buggiers have been traveling from all over the world in the middle of winter to a remote spot in the Mojave Desert to practice their craft. The Ivanpah Dry Lake bed, located one hour south of Las Vegas, Nevada, just over the state line in California offers some of the most pristine buggying conditions in all of North America. A solid surface, smooth consistent winds and the most beautiful terrain imaginable make this area a mecca for traction kiting. Join us for a week of fun including Enduro and Circuit racing, trick riding, the annual cookout. Don't forget our annual pre-event at the El Mirage dry lake near Adelanto, CA. This location has a 60 acre lake with one of the tallest working "Fountains" in the USA, and is a local favorite flying location. This Fun Fly is a celebration of the Re-Opening of the park after 10 months of construction.
[Sandy Point] Annual Kite Fly and picnic in honor of Bill Kocher. Bird Kites are a specialty.

[Primm] Buggies, Buggies, Buggies!!
   
[Lahoma] Eighth annual fun fly including activities for kids of all ages, kitemaking workshops, competitions, clowns.
[Phoenix] This too is a club-supported event and again not quite a NKM event. Take I-17 North about five miles from the Carefree Highway, north of Phoenix. Exit at the Anthem Way exit, then turn right and drive into the community. As you come to the park fountains, take another right (before the fountains) and proceed to the second parking lot on the left. The event is from 10am to 4pm, and will be a long day so bring your shade, water, and chairs. You will need to arrive early to get good parking because this will be a big event. This event is the second annual Anthem Days event so there will be lots of vendors, and events all over the place. The Fun Fly sponsors, the Tucson group, have requested that we bring our short line sets due to the limited space available. In this way, we should be able to get more people on the field at the same time. This will be the biggest event of the season, so come and join the fun. [Phoenix] The Second Annual Anthem Days Kite Festival is a great fun and relaxing event. Featuring Ron Reich performing on Saturday his award winning performances. Team flying demos, trick flying, Rokkaku Battles, Indian Fighter Kites, Boomerang demo and Candy Drops for the kids. Also in this beautiful desert setting in the Del Webb’s Community with wonderful grassy fields and water features, there is a great Arts & Crafts Fair and various activities for the whole family. Come and join us for some FUN in the SUN at Anthem Days!!

[Texarkana] Kites Over Texarkana is an annual events sponsored by Sugar Hill United Methodist Men. It is a family fun fly event with awards precented to best built kites on the hour each hour. There is live entertainment, concession stands, and kite making exhibits.
[Merced] For the kid’s there will be a candy drop and kite academy . Proceeds from food venders will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Merced. Also a Newspaper Kite Contest with prizes in three age groups.

[Pittsburgh] This is a kick-off Celebration at the Carnegie Science Center for the SciTech Festival. Fly Pittsburgh has been invited to do a demonstration of Indoor Kite Flying as well as other kiting activities, such as, videos, a children’s sled-kite workshop, a mini-kite display, banners and arches, and teddy bear parachuting. Several members of Fly Pittsburgh will do the indoor kite flying demonstrations in one section of the Science Center while in another, there will be teddy bear parachute drops from a height of about 3 stories. Also in a separate room, children will be making and decorating their own personal sled kites.

[pensacola beach, florida] march 31, 2001 we will be having our 2nd pensacola beach fun fly kite festival on pensacola beach from 10:00-4:00 at the beach pavilion area.
[Mountain View] Kite flying to music, ballet demos. A day for BASKL to introduce itself to the local fliers at the park, no competitions.
         
[PENSACOLA BEACH] OUR LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD IS TRYING TO CLOSE OUR BEACH SCHOOL AND WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE MONEY TO KEEP IT OPEN. LAST YEAR WE SUPPORTED YOUTH AWARENESS WITH A FUN FLY AND IT DID VERY WELL. SO COME JOIN US.
