[Marina] 3 day kite/hang glider and skydiving event in Marina, Calif (Monterey Bay area). Festival includes entertainment, food and exhibitions. This is a first year event that wishes to become an annual sanctioned event in the future for competitions and more. Additional event info on www.marinafestival.com.
         
[Chesterton] The Col. Murray Memorial Kite Festival & Flea Market has been extended to two full days of kite flying, family fun, and kids activities. This is the festival’s 3rd year as a free fun fly. Close to the Indiana Dunes and Lake Michigan, this event is turning into a must attend event. This event been used as a "shake-out" event for flyers prior to the major summer season. The folks in the region are given an opportunity to see demonstrations and attend workshops on kite flying as a hobby. If enough interest would like to have a night fly, also. This year we hope to attract aerial photography kite flyers as the late Col. Murray proposed & designed Kite Photography back in 1899 for military and survey work. [LONG BEACH] MS. GULF COAST KITE FEST 2000 IS THE 1ST ANNUAL KITE FEST HELD ON THE BEACH IN LONG BEACH, MS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WORKSHOPS, GAMES, DISPLAYS AND KITE COMPETITION, KITEMAKING. THE MS. GULF COAST KITE CLUB AND CRESCENT CITY KITEFLIERS WILL SUPPORT THE KITE FEST. KITE VENDORS, FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS.

[St. Louis] Fly into spring at the Great St. Louis Kite Festival in Forest Park’s Central Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. In case of rain, the festival will be held Sunday, May 7. The eighth annual tradition provides the city of St. Louis a fun way to welcome spring with this free family event. The Great St. Louis Kite Festival offers family entertainment and enjoyment for people of all ages. The festival includes demonstrations by professional kite flyers from across the country, amateur kite flying activities, live music, entertainment, Animal Protective Association dog parade, contests and food. [Grand Forks] This is HobbyTown USA’s 3rd annual Community Kite Fly. Last year 250-300 people came out to fly their kites and watch the expert kite flying demonstrations. It includes the 15th Annual East Coast Stunt Kite Championships (America’s oldest and largest sport kite competition); the Wild Wheels Buggy Blast extending this year onto the water with kite board exhibitions; the Wildwood World Indoor Kite Competition in its 5th year; a Nite Kite Show with fireworks; fighter kite competitions and workshops; corporate rokkaku battles; kite sales, demos and free lessons; international guests; world records for giant kites; New this year - the Great International Miniature Kite Contest sponsored by the Drachen Foundation; a school program; kitemaking workshops by special guests and the Lehigh Valley Kite Society; awards banquet and auction; barbecue sponsored by South Jersey Kite Flyers; and lots more if you can believe it.
         
[Garrison] Skydance is a family oriented fun fly. Ribbons are given to all participants and prizes are awarded for highest fly, youngest and oldest fliers, most colorful, and best crash. Drawings for free Trlby stunt kites, festival logo caps and logo t-shirts are held daily. Dual-line and quad-line sport kite demonstrations are given and kite buggy rides are available. Kids kite making class will happen on Saturday.
           
[San Ramon] This festival features non-competitive kite flying demos, kite making workshops and some indoor kite flying demos. Other activities include 200 arts & crafts booths, entertainment on 3 stages, food booths, a 5K Windbreaker Run, and an early morning hot air balloon launch. Club organizer, Brian Champie, always puts on a great party for kite flyers in attendance.
           
[Thunder Bay] 20th Annualy Kite Festival for the City of Thunder Bay. Last year we had over 800 people at the waterfront flying their kite. Mr Kite from Minnesota Kite Society will be coming to help us celebrate this event

[Topeka] This event is the 8th festival that the Topeka Kite Fliers has put on. We draw from the five states surrounding Kansas. We include all competion with the AKA and CKL. There will be free camping, with no hook ups. Friday evening will be a night fly, Saturday, competition plus silent auction and more, Sunday Fun Fly and demo’s.

[Jamestown] The Jamestown KiteFest has grown to become North Dakota’s largest kite festival. Last year’s event drew people from across the state and three other states. Some of the nation’s best award winning kite builders are regular attendees and are sure to display some of their latest works. The festival is a family fun fly with games for the kids, kite building for everyone, music, and lots of fun.

[Western Isles] This isa brand new event in one of Europe’s most beatiful corners. We will be kiting for 5 days on a rolling adventure though the 11 islands that make up the Outer Hebrides off Scotland’s west coast. We will be starting at Europe’s most northwesterly point, and finishing on the Isle of Barra which boast Britain’s only official beach airport. The main venues will be the magnificent Atlantic beaches of the Western Isles, but there will also be cultural, historical and wildlife side-trips available, and a lively social scene is planned in these most welcoming of islands.
