[Nags Head] Learn to kite surf with the original kite surfing school on Hatteras Island, Kitty Hawk Kites Kite Surfing School. Our special kite surfing clinics/camps are taught by PASA and Wipika approved instructors. Get the most comprehensive course available, 14 hours of total instruction for only $299.00! Advanced reservations required. Topics covered will include learning the necessary skills required to launch solo and assisted, land in the water, master the power intake. Progress to the water and perform exciting body drags through the water. Learn to control the direction you are being pulled, how to drag upwind, etc. Start the waterstart. Instructors will guide you through kite, body, and board positioning. Learn to stand up on the board, begin to plane, and then you are ready to start edging and to go upwind! Learn on a variety of kite types and sizes and become more educated on this exciting new level of Kiting. We supply all the gear and the classes take place in the wide expansive sound waters of Hatteras Island. The waters are warm, shallow, and calm. This is the perfect place to learn to kite surf! We have a private beach, shower, clean restroom, and a pro shop on site!

[Pacific Beach] Enjoyed by hundreds of flyers and those to be each year. Great fun fly for all ages. contest categories are decided the day before the event do no one can prepare better then the next. It is very inpromptu for all involved and is a great success. Everyone is invited to join in on the fun. Saturday night is a POTLUCK dinner with a raffle and auction.Lots of great gifts are donated by local businesses and flyers alike.

[Eugene] A one-day family-oriented event to introduce, display, and fly kites of Asian style or design. Entertainment includes a performances by taiko drummers and by lion dancers. There will be a kite workshop to build a traditional Nagasaki Hata as well as kite demos, contests, and a featured Asian kite maker.

[Newport] This Freedom Fly is to show support to the U.S.A., our great country. The event is based on Phil Broder’s suggestion to fight terrorism with kites. Come join us in flying Red, White & Blue kites, banners, flags, etc. Fly starts at 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

[Ocean City] Bring the entire family and join The Kite Loft for the best kite festival on the east coast. On Wednesday Sept 19th, thousands of spectators and kiting friends from across the country will meet in Ocean City, Maryland for five fun filled days of competitions, games, food and festivities.

[Denver] The Glory Days Festival of Flight is in it’s 2nd year & this is the 1st year that it will involve kiting activities. There will be space for Single Line, Multi Line and Buggy’s. There will also be Indoor Stunt Kite Demo’s along with Radio Controlled Planes, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Live Music and FREE Admission to the "Wings Over the Rockies" Museum of Flight & Space. The Museum is a Hangar that houses many old planes and some NASA exibits. There are also 3 Kites made by Jeff Cain of Colorado, including a small scale Lilinthal Glider. This is a "Must See"! There are some Hotels in the area within a 1-2 mile drive on Quebec St by the former Intl. Stapleton Airport.
