[Wright-Patterson AFB] The 18th Annual U.S. Air Force Museum is a three day event for kite enthusiasts and competitors. In addition to sport kite competition, other competitions for fighter kite, comprehensive, Rokkaku battle - individual and team and windsprints. Sled kite workshops are held both days. A kite exhibit and night fly on Friday round out the schedule.

[Avon] Learn to kite surf with this special kite surfing clinic. Two full days of instruction and all the gear is provided! You have seen it in all the kite magazines, now you can try it with the guidance of our expert instructors, Paul Menta, Chris Moore, Andy Torrington, and Jeff Howard. Learn on a variety of kite types including the Wipika Free Air kites and the Quadrifoil Kite Surfer Kites. Enjoy the fun and excitement of one of the hottest kite sports around. We will have a campfire on the beach on Saturday evening.
         
NJSKC (NJ)
[Belmar] Full Eastern League sport kite competition held in conjunction with Fly Away Kites "Belmar Kite Festival".
         
[Cleveland] The Cleveland Kite Festival, presented by the Ohio Society for the Elevation of Kites, is an annual gathering of kite enthusiasts. This year’s festival participants may bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Cleveland Foodbank. In exchange for a food donation a free kite will be provided to fly at the festival. Highlights of the festival include: famous giant kites, award winning artistic kites, power kiting and buggy demonstrations, children’s windsprints and awards ceremony, rok team kite battles, mega-stack controllable kites, fighter kite demonstrations, individual and team sport kite ballets. Vendors will include a few kite stores and a refreshment shop.
         
[OGUNQUIT] Capriccio Festival of Kites will be held on Ogunquit Beach from 10 AM to 2 PM. Three hundred free kite making kits will be distributed to children to assemble, decorate and fly. Mass ascension at noon for prizes. There will be general kite flying and demonstrations all day. T-shirts will be available.

[Sandwich] The 9th Annual Sandwich boardwalk and Kite Festival is to celebrate the start of autumn. There will be kite making for the kids. Jack Rogres Travailing Kite Show, bubble machines live band and the US Army National Guard will display vehicles and many events for the whole family.
           
[Oregon] A fun fly on the shores of Lake Erie to cap off a weekend of camping at Maumee Bay State Park.

[Shawnee,OK] Shawnee Sister Cities Council is sponsoring Shawnee’s First Kite Festival. We are inviting area kite flyers to come and show off their stunt kites, show kites, or just come and enjoy the fun. There will be contests in several categories including smallest, largest and most unique. Pam Thomason will be our vendor for kites and kite equipment. Steve Thomason may bring his kite buggies. The gathering is open to all AKA members and the general public.THis is not a serious competition just a fun day to share kites! We hope to make this an annual event. Please come on out and join us!
