[San Andreas] Kites over Calaveras Kite Festival
Sunday, June 3rd -
There’s something for everyone at the 9th Annual Kites over Calaveras. Large kites, small kites, and everything in between will be there.
A kite making workshop will be held on Saturday, June 2t,h from 1:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. at the San Andreas Town Hall. Space is limited and reservations are required. Cost is $25 per kite. This includes everything you need to make and fly your own personal kite the next day at the Kite Festival.
On Sunday, June 3rd, the festival starts at 11:00 am. and runs to 4:00 pm. at the San Andreas Community Ball Park on Mountain Ranch Road.
Learn-to-fly, candy drop, mystery ballet, mass ascension (a tribute to the Red, White, and Blue), with kite flying demonstrations throughout the day. Brought back this year by popular demand, our very own Kite Demolition Derby. Plus, kids activities and a small engine display. So come out and join the fun!

[Nags Head] The 30th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival, hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites, is scheduled for June 9th and 10th, 2012, from 10A.M. to 4P.M. The festival will be held on the dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park, located at mile post 12.5 on highway 158. This is a free event and is open to the public.
Rogallo Kite Festival Scuba Diver
The Rogallo Kite Festival includes two days of kite flying to honor Francis Rogallo, NASA scientist and inventor of the flexible wing. His inventions started the sport of hang gliding and his designs have carried over into the stunt kites, power kites and hang gliders that are flown today.
To honor Mr. Rogallo, Kitty Hawk Kites presents two full days of large kite displays. Large single line kites, including a 100 ft. octopus, an 80 ft. scuba diver and a 50 ft. fish, will soar above Jockey’s Ridge. Kitty Hawk Kites will offer free stunt and power kite lessons on the dunes and free kite making and face painting at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Nags Head (directly across from the festival).

[Jamestown] The Jamestown Kite Festival has become a premier kiting event, attracting kite enthusiasts from across the country and Canada. The event is free and open to everyone. Events include fun contests for kids, kite making, demonstrations, door prizes, and music. Over 13 acres of flying space!
         
[Laramie] Our first known kite festival in Wyoming for many years or more. We have been invited to coordinate a kids kite festival and demo of our many
types of kiting.
Surrounded by over 200 acres of open, Treeless land with trimmed Prairie
Grass and world famous Wyoming WIND!!! many days in excess of 20MPH,
the Wyoming Territorial Prison was built in 1872, and housed over 1,000
prisoners from the
Wild West, the most famous being Butch Cassidy himself.
The facility was decommissioned in 1903, used as a stable until the
1990’s when it was restored & became a Museum
the "Alcatraz" of the Old West.
The event is from 9AM to 6PM. We are considering CAMPING together at a
local campground after the festival, hence the additional day added to
the event.
If the Winds persist after Dusk, some of us may do a Night Fly in the
nearest open area at camp.
         
[Worley] This is the 4th Annual International Nude Kite Festival Sponsored by Sun Meadow Family Nudist Resort. This year there will be prizes awarded for Most Amazing Kite and Best Flying Kite and Best Nudist Theme Kite.

[White Bear Lake] This is a regular monthly kite fly for Minnesota Kite Society (MKS) members. Nonmembers are welcomed to participate too. Everyone is encouraged to bring a kite to fly. Don't have a kite? No problem! Kites will be available from Brad at the fun fly.
         
[Hollister] It’s a fun, inexpensive way for families to enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful state park. There is music, free face painting, plus free bubble gum and pie eating contests and a Make Your Own Kite Free table. There will be free crafts and nature tables to check out. [Swift Current] The 2012 SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival will once again take flight in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on June 23 and 24. This world-class event attracts kite flyers, enthusiasts and fun lovin’ people from across the globe to one prairie field to enjoy an exciting weekend of kiting and family fun.
The skies above Swift Current will fill with a colourful array of some of the most unique kites in the world. This free admission festival features beautiful, original handmade art kites, giant creature kites the size of houses, speeding kite buggies racing eighty kilometers an hour, screaming stunt kites flying in tandem, and an one hundred kite train soaring to the skies.
At Windscape, everyone can experience the thrill of flying in the vast Saskatchewan air space with some of the world’s best kite artists and performers.
At eleven in the morning and three in the afternoon, three time Canadian champion juggler Robin Chestnut will entertain everyone with his high-wire comedy routine. Kids of all ages will enjoy balloon sculpting, the bubble station, mystery sandpile, bol racing, face-painting and ongoing kite workshops. There is also a Kite Store with many kinds of kites of all levels.
The Long Day’s Night Music Festival complements the kite festival. Three nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, featuring Yukon Blonde, Delhi 2 Dublin and more.
Please join us for the Windscape Kite Festival in Swift Current on the Southwest Hill. The festival begins on Saturday, June 23 at 10:00 am and has no admission charge. It runs Sunday until 5:00 pm.

[Edmond] Both Saturday and Sunday (June 30 and July 1) will be a family fun fly. There will be kiteflying demos of one, two and four line kites. Included in the activities will be kite making for the kids by Richard and Marti Dermer and candy drops from a kite. There will be a kite auction Saturday with special kites donated by kiters and at sun down a night fly with lighted kites (weather permitting). There will also be members of a local astronomy club joining us to allow attendees to enjoy the night sky. There will be a kite vendor for those needing kites.
The kitefest will be about 20 miles from the nearest airport and about 1/2 mile from the nearest power lines.
