Normand Girard (AKA member) and owner of Vent D'Ekinox (VDE) is happy to sponser the FreeFly 2006 event, Normand Girard will be the official AKA Chairperson for this event, the FQCV (AKA affiliated member,Federation Quebecoise du Cerf-Volant) will help out by supplying AKA members to provide the security requirements of the AKA for obtaining the AKA Sanctioned status and insurance required by the City of Varennes, Quebec, Canada.

By having a festival at the beginning of the summer, New fliers will have the opprotunity to meet up with the experienced ones, thus creating an evironment where the experienced fliers can pass on their knowledge. Its also a good time, to discuss the upcoming events, and make arrangements to attend them.

The majority of One Line fliers in Quebec, build their own kites. So this festival is also a venue for exchanging information on all facets of kite design, construction and stimulates creativity.

The site which is approximately 2000' long and 500' wide, and will be divided into 2 fields, field orientation will depend on wind direction.

field 1 is reserved for Vent D'Ekinox, for their Kite Demo tryouts and for the stunt kites.
