The public is welcome to watch, chat, fly, enjoy, and join the club. We fly stunt kites, single line kites, fighter kites, and sometimes a buggy.

[Bodega Bay] Come join us for an end of the week, beginning of the weekend kite fly. Bring your own kites or come out and demo ours. We have a large selection of kites for you to try, just ask and we will see what we can pull out of the bag for you

Edgewater State Park, off Rte. 2 west of the Great Lakes Science Center about a mile.
LOTS TO DO: Bring your own kites or buy them from shops on the field! Make kites in the OSEK Workshop. Compete in Wind Sprints for kids of all ages
Compete in a Fighter Kite Competition (American Rules)-Novice Class on Saturday,
Advanced Class on Sunday
Learn to fly sport kites! Watch demonstrations, join in a Mass Ascension of Red-White-Blue (kite or tail or hang a flag on your flying line) kites on Patriot Day ( Sept. 11). Share the fun, bring the family, bring a picnic, and bring your battery operated fm radio to hear announcement on your own radio as well as from the sound system. (It’s a big park.)
And bring Sunny Skies and Fair Breezes!

[Milwaukee] The Tour De Kites continues……………………….. September, 2005..Milwaukee, WI LIVE ON THE INTERNET and LIVE AT VETERANS PARK…...MOTS 2005...27 GREAT YEARS! THE WORLD will be WATCHING US FLY! "The 27th Annual Frank Mots International Kite Festival.."Octopi in the Sky" will be held on Saturday, September 10th,& Sunday September 11th, 2005, in Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s Lakefront from 10:00 am until 6:00Pm each day. The Festivities will kick off at 12 noon with a grand launch of hopefully 500 kites. That’s right...two great days of flying. The event is sponsored by the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois, and Gift of Wings, America’s Second Harvest and Joseph Campione famous garlic bread, Palermos frozen Pizza and Master Spas, and our newest media sponsors, WLUM Rock 1021, Smooth Jazz WJZI, and 1290am WMCS. The Mudslingers of the Milky Way, EOS, Something Old… Something New, Jim Wirt, Mike Delfar and the kites of Yves LaForest and Jean Lemire. Yves Laforest will feature 2 GIANT Octopi kites flying high over Milwaukee. WOW…He has two of them now, and they will be flying high over Milwaukee, along with the giant Teddy Bear, the Giant Windsock, and many other giant kites. The grand Launch of around 500 kites will take place directly at noon. The professional kite teams will start performing at 12:30 pm followed by the Kids Mad Dash at 2:00. [Waterford]

[Ogunquit] The 8th Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites will be held on the Ogunquit Beach from 10am to 2pm on September 10, 2005. The Festival is part of a two week long Festival of the Arts. Three hundred kites will be given to decorate and fly. Any AKA or KONE members that help with the kite decorating or demonstrate dual line, quad line, or single line kites will receive a free t-shirt. Parking is also free for volunteers. Come early, stay late, and help us flood the sky with kites!

[Windom] Beautiful views will greet fliers at the Wolf Lake kite fly location! Overlooking trumpeter swans, geese, ducks, songbirds and more, the Wolf Lake site offers a convenient location near Windom in Cottonwood County of Southwestern Minnesota.

The Prairie Ecology Bus Center (PEBC) is hosting it’s third annual Colors of Wind kite fly for families and individuals. Fliers of all ages welcomed along with spectators for an afternoon of fun and colorful skies! The kite fly will be from noon to 4 p.m. and offers young fliers a chance to make their own kites to help us decorate the sky.

Fellow kite flying enthusiasts from the Solid Group Kite Club will be out with their best of show to add pizzaz and a whole lot of "Wow!" to the afternoon.

The "Prairie Schooler" Ecology Bus, a mobile classroom and environmental learning center, will be on site with fun activities hosting a windy theme! For added fun, participants may want to try their hand at a Discovery Quest treasure hunt located on the Wolf Lake site. Ten treasure hunts exist in the area and the PEBC encourages you to try them all!

[Green River] Our first annual kite Festival! A one day event that is fun for the whole family! We will have kite workshops, contests, food and live entertainment!

[Ballwin] It’s back to school time, so we’ll have our own ‘school.’ Try a kiting style you’ve never tried before. Wether it be a stunt kite, fighter kite, big SLK, foil, etc. I’m sure you’ll find a member that will let you give one a try.

[Columbus] A Kitefly for all types of kites and kiteflying in the Columbus Ohio Area. The Monthly fly is from 10 AM to 5 PM on the Second Sunday and Fourth Saturday of every month. These monthly flys are promoted and supervised by the Columbus Kiters

[Cape Town] The Cape Town International kite festival is Africa’s largest kiteing event. International guests, all of South Africa’s national kiters and about 20 000 spectators make it an event to remember

[Toronto] Canada¡¦s largest kite festival features expert demonstrations of one-of-a-kind specialty kites by award-winning teams from Belgium, Spain, United States and Canada. This free two-day event will take place at Milliken District Park, at McCowan & Steeles in Scarborough, from 11 am to 5 pm. In addition to breathtaking kite stunts, there will be Rokkaku kite battles and a flying field to put up your own kite. Bring the family and join in children¡¦s kite-making workshops, rock climbing, live multicultural performances, a bazaar and gourmet market, game booths, lucky draws and prizes. [Ankeny,] This is an Open Fly, Featuring Large kites!!! September 18 Sunday, start: 11:00AM... There will be a reception (with a cash bar) for kite flyers with registration on Saturday Night September 17 2005 (location to be announced).
