[Livonia] The 4 Seasons Kite Club flies every Wednesday after work at Schoolcraft College from roughly 5:30 until weather, darkness, or hunger overtake us. The public is welcome to watch, chat, fly, enjoy, and join the club. We fly stunt kites, single line kites, fighter kites, and sometimes a buggy.
 
[Bodega Bay] Come join us for an end of the week, beginning of the weekend kite fly. Bring your own kites or come out and demo ours. We have a large selection of kites for you to try, just ask and we will see what we can pull out of the bag for you

[Callaway] Labor Day Weekend of Fun Flying. Official flying starts with the Flag raising at 10:00 a.m. at Foster Smith Field on both Saturday and Sunday. Flying continues all day and can continue into a Night Fly. Free entertainment at Callaway Community Center in Callaway on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. Free Camping in Morgan Park with Showers (suggested donation of $1.00 a day per person. Spectators can watch free of charge. If you want to fly-a $20 per family charge that covers the whole weekend and includes 1 free t-shirt commemorating the event. Free shuttle bus from Morgan Park to flying site that operates on the hour.

[Beech Mountain] Come visit Beech Mountain for a Family Friendly day of Kite Flying. Saturday enjoy the Chamber Street Dance and see kites with lights. Sunday kids are invited to make kites, fly kites, play kite games and see the demonstrations by Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society, and the Richmond Air Force kite clubs. [Sun Valley, ID] Special Event for Children to Greet HH the Dalai Lama on his visit to Sun Valley, ID. Children from Ketchum schools will fly kites with words of peace, compassion, and prayers for us all.

The event is to welcome HHDL and to foster the ideas and principles of Peace & Compassion for young and old alike.
         
[Kill Devil Hills] This competitive fly is on the Eastern League Circuit for sport kite flying and is also sanctioned by the American Kiting Association. Throughout the weekend non-competitors can enjoy workshops, demonstrations and kite making for kids. The highlights of this event include graceful kite ballet competitions set to music, and faced paced team flying that blend both kite control and speed.

In addition, a kite carneval for non-competitors will be held featuring learn-to-fly areas, kids kitemaking, and kite demonstrations of power kiting and large show kites.
         
[Queens] Eight invited fliers will perform for the public between matches on Saturday and Sunday. The US Open is the highest attended annual sporting event in the world.

"The 27th Annual Frank Mots International Kite Festival.."Octopi in the Sky" will be held on Saturday, September 10th,& Sunday September 11th, 2005, in Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s Lakefront from 10:00 am until 6:00Pm each day. The Festivities will kick off at 12 noon with a grand launch of hopefully 500 kites. That’s right...two great days of flying. [Ogunquit] The 8th Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites will be held on the Ogunquit Beach from 10am to 2pm on September 10, 2005. The Festival is part of a two week long Festival of the Arts. Three hundred kites will be given to decorate and fly. Any AKA or KONE members that help with the kite decorating or demonstrate dual line, quad line, or single line kites will receive a free t-shirt. Parking is also free for volunteers. Come early, stay late, and help us flood the sky with kites!
[Windom] Beautiful views will greet fliers at the Wolf Lake kite fly location! Overlooking trumpeter swans, geese, ducks, songbirds and more, the Wolf Lake site offers a convenient location near Windom in Cottonwood County of Southwestern Minnesota.

The Prairie Ecology Bus Center (PEBC) is hosting it’s third annual Colors of Wind kite fly for families and individuals. Fliers of all ages welcomed along with spectators for an afternoon of fun and colorful skies! The kite fly will be from noon to 4 p.m. and offers young fliers a chance to make their own kites to help us decorate the sky.

Fellow kite flying enthusiasts from the Solid Group Kite Club will be out with their best of show to add pizzaz and a whole lot of "Wow!" to the afternoon.

The "Prairie Schooler" Ecology Bus, a mobile classroom and environmental learning center, will be on site with fun activities hosting a windy theme! For added fun, participants may want to try their hand at a Discovery Quest treasure hunt located on the Wolf Lake site. Ten treasure hunts exist in the area and the PEBC encourages you to try them all!

[Coupeville] This popular 2-day kite festival features an AKA sport kite competition, single line displays, kids' kitemaking, sportkite lessons, indoor competition, and teddy-bear drops. [Oswego, Illinois] Oswegoland Park District offers a Fall kite fly for the community. We welcome all flyers to come and entertain all who are coming out to the event. We have kite making, music, and food vendors.
[Seal Beach] The Seal Beach Kite Festival is an annual one day event which has grown steadily over the past 10 yrs. Located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern CA and hosted by the entire city it attracts kite enthusiasts from all over the world. Champion Sport Kite fliers show off their skills in the main field with music and our own kite DJ, Glen Rothstein. HUGE kites fill the sky and some of the best kite artwork is on display. Japanese kite masters show off their wares and the best Taiko drummers in the world perform. Hundreds of tiny paper kites fill the sky as lines of children get to build their own kites and fly them. All for FREE.Kite contests, catch the tail, candy drop and raffles round out a wonderful, fun,family day.

[Ocean City] The AKA Convention is an annual five day gathering of kite enthusiasts, artists, and competitors. With roughly 500 members in attendance, the Convention ranks as one of the largest kite gatherings in the world. Convention activities include educational workshops, games, displays, and the Grand National kite competitions for kite making and sport kite flying. Committee and general business meetings are scheduled. Other highlights are the Great Kite Auction which offers unique and hard to get kite products and a retail FlyMarket for small vendors. The Convention is held in different locations each year and is scheduled in September or October. The gathering is only open to AKA members.)
